Waumba Land is a safe place for kids to come and experience church on their level. We offer three different age level classes geared for children between the ages of 6 weeks-10 years old. Our ultimate goal is for kids to know about God's love, experience it, and then share it with others in their homes, schools and community.
Times we meet: Sundays at 10:50 a.m.
Contact: Jamie Kalb (775) 265-3574
Waumba means Creator in Swahili, so Waumba Land means land of the Creator.
Curriculum: We proudly use the Generations of Grace Curriculum. For detailed information about the curriculum please visit the Generations of Grace website: http://www.generationsofgrace.com/
Waumba Land features two programs annually for Christmas and Easter. All children are encouraged to participate. We also host Vacation Bible School during the summer that is open to the community.
Waumba Land is fueled by volunteers. All our volunteers go through a detailed screening process and criminal background check. We would love to talk with you about joining our team. If you are interested and would like more information about volunteering in Waumba Land, please contact Jamie Kalb (775) 265-3574
First Time Guests
Children are dismissed during the offertory and will meet in the lobby. From there, the teachers will take the students into the appropriate age level classroom for lesson, activities and snacks. You are welcome to follow your child to his/her classroom so you are aware of their location. At the end of service an adult must go to the child’s class to pick-up the child. It is important to inform your child’s teacher of any allergies or health concerns. We look forward to meeting you and your children, and we hope God may be leading you to make Shadow Mountain Church your church home. You can enroll your child in Waumba Land by filling out the registration form from your child’s teacher.
For the protection of all our children, please do not bring your children to class if they exhibit any of the following:
• Fever in the last 24 hours
• Vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours
• Common cold (onset through one week)
• Any unexplained rash
• Cloudy or green runny nose
• Pink eye or other eye infections
• Persistent cough
• Any communicable disease
• Any symptoms of common childhood diseases, such as chicken pox, strep throat, etc.
Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants. I will proclaim the name of the LORD. Oh, praise the greatness of our God! He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.
